Trikelyftet on Ålleberg: Skånska Gyrokopterklubben takes the next step for new flight enthusiasts

Trikelyftet on Ålleberg brought Weight-shift microlite pilots together across the country

From 4–6 September, Trikelyftet was held at Ålleberg, outside Falköping. The event became a meeting point for trike pilots who wanted to share experiences, discuss the current situation, look ahead to the role of trikes in Swedish aviation culture—and of course, fly.

Nine pilots – many perspectives

Over the weekend, nine trike pilots gathered. They exchanged lessons from everyday life in the air, from training setups, and from how to best care for both new and experienced aviators. The conversations focused on the practical: how to create safe progression, strengthen the sense of community, and make it easier for more people to get the chance to try it out and train.

Agreement: Skånska Gyrokopterklubben takes responsibility for the next step

It was decided that Skånska Gyrokopterklubben will take care of new flight enthusiasts in Sweden and organize Weight-shift microlite training within the framework of KSAK Weight-shift microlite training. We see this as a natural next step in our work to make aviation more accessible—and to guide interested people from curiosity to real, responsive controls.

A new communication platform for trike flying

In parallel, a separate communication platform was created for trike flying. It is intended to serve as a hub for dialogue, sharing experiences, and joint planning within the segment.

How the club helps

Skånska Gyrokopterklubben will, among other things,:

  • help facilitate connections
  • support onboarding for new pilots
  • arrange Weight-shift microlite training that fits the individual’s needs

We look forward to continued close collaboration and to giving more people the opportunity to discover the joy of flying and developing as pilots—with safety, community, and progression.
